Team Philosophy
At Northeast Ohio Gymnastics, our goal is to produce competitive athletes, while prioritizing holistic health. Our program develops qualities such a dedication, time management, positivity, self-accountability, and hard work. The coaching staff is striving for the athletes to see growth in the things they can control (themselves) and achieve their personal bests; whatever that may be. We hope the tools learned inside the gym will allow them to become the best versions of themselves, in and outside of the gym, as they grow into young adults.
Team Programs
Hot Shots
Our Hot Shot program is designed for children, ages 4-6, who show readiness to begin training for competitive team. Practices will emphasize strength, body awareness, flexibility, and fun! Gymnasts will practice for 1.5 hours at a time, working up to two days per week.
Junior Olympic Program (J.O.)
The Junior Olympic program is comprised of Levels 2-10. Levels 2-5 are compulsory levels. Each athlete learns the same core skills and routines to perform at competitions. Levels 6-10 are optional levels. During this phase of a gymnast’s career, they will begin learning upper level skills, along with personalized routines that are tailored to their strengths. The J.O. Program has a more rigid structure than the Xcel program, as there are strict level requirements.
Xcel Program
The Xcel program is very similar to the J.O. optional program, however there is a much broader range of skills that can be performed in each competitive level. This provides more flexibility than J.O.. Routines are choreographed to best suit the needs of each athlete. The Xcel program is great for athletes who are starting their gymnastics career later in childhood, dealing with fears, or are able to excel on certain events faster than others.
